On the following pages I’ll go into why five-a-day in health terms is absolutely crucial in enjoying a long and fruitful life without heart attacks, strokes and all those difficult things that we’d not rather talk about. I’ve had my fair share of health problems (epilepsy, coeliac disease) but I’m not going to waffle on about them – or what food you should eat – I’ll simply say what works for me.
On these pages I’ll also try to explore why – to the sane, rational minds of the general population – why writers are prone to pulling sickies or end up going doolally. We put a lot of pressure on our brains. Simples.
